GED-540 Literacy Instruction for School Leaders
GED 540 provides students with an in-depth investigation into the most contemporary research-based, best practices in literacy instruction for school leaders based on the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders and the International Literacy Association's Standards for Literacy Professionals. Students will enhance their knowledge of literacy instruction, curriculum development, assessment techniques, topics including diversity and inclusion, creating the physical environment for literacy learning and professional practices. Students will examine their own positionality as leaders in the field and the power that role holds in terms of creating equity and access for all learners.
