ESL-2051 Public Speaking Non-Native Speakers Engl
This course is desinged to assist international students in improving their speaking abilities in the fast-paced American classroom settings. The course will analyze the cultural barriers that exist from the students' native countries and learn how the American value system requires a drastic shift in the students' mind-set in order to be verbally effective in the classrooms. The class will be a practice ground for the students to explore various ways to fully participate in their regular classes. By the end of this course, the students will acquire specific skills and strategies that will enhance their public speaking abilities, thereby increasing their confidence in participating in the classrooms discussions and presentations.
