SCM-3010 Forecasting & Logistics

This course provides a broad overview of the planning and execution of customer demand.  It is divided into two parts: logistics and forecasting. The first segment addresses the three major building blocks of logistics networks (transportation, warehousing and inventory).  Students will be able to differentiate the advantages and disadvantages of different modes of transportation, understand what goes into designing and setting up a warehousing facility, and discuss the development of logistics networks that minimize costs and deliver top customer service.  Students will master different forecasting techniques essential for building a sales and operation plan, including analyzing demand data, constructing forecasting techniques, and projecting future demand.
