SOC-3002 Intimate Relationships

In this course students will explore dating, love, marriage and friendship in a variety of contexts and forms. Contemplating intimacy historically, currently, domestically and cross-culturally, students will consider the various scripts, rituals and social constructions employed when engaging in intimate activity. Finally, the violence that all too often accompanies intimate relationships will be examined. [Human Services; Criminal Justice Concentration Requirement]
