HIS-2010 African American History
This course is a study of the history of African Americans from the beginning of the Middle Passage in Africa to slavery in colonial America, blacks in the Revolution, the rise of southern plantation
slavery, the abolition movement and Underground Railroad, and the political crisis up to the Civil War. It then follows the story of African Americans through Reconstruction, World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II, concluding with an in-depth study of the Civil Rights years following the Second World War.
