HSC-3100 Nutrition for Sports Exercise
This course will discuss the principles of metabolism and the impact of nutritional choices in sports, exercise and weight management. The main topics in this course will include intervention planning, energy production, the energy nutrients, vitamins and minerals, principles of balanced diets, meal planning, intervention, weight management strategies and nutritional needs for special situations. The scientific principles of weight management with an emphasis on lifestyle modification for improving health will be addressed in the context of physiological, sociological, and psychological aspects of weight management.
