THA-1205 Nature of Work: Fine Arts
This course is designed to prepare students for the professional aspects of a career in the vast and varied world of the Fine Arts. Whether a student has desire to perform onstage, back stage,
design, manage or support any creative field, this course will explore the inclusive and expansive career in the arts. Both the creative and analytical mind is necessary to compete in the ever changing world of the arts, and the adaptability to new trends will allow practitioners to thrive in an ever changing market place. Students will examine the job market, learn how to research prospective employers, and evaluate their own competencies and strengths. In addition, students will create resumes, headshots, and cover letters, and prepare for job interviews. Through networking and interviewing experiences, along with guest speakers by many industry professionals, students will be enriched and inspired by these opportunities and interactions-what an exciting way to kick off your college career.
