Health Services

Good health, which includes physical, emotional, and social well‐being, is an essential ingredient for the academic success of all students. Maintenance of good health through prevention, education, and treatment of illness is the primary goal of the Health Services Office. To accomplish this goal, the Health Services Office must have an accurate and complete set of health forms, including required immunization records on file prior to the start of the semester. In addition, the Health Services Office prepares students to be informed health care consumers. The Health Office provides health education and counseling, routine physical exams and health maintenance, immunizations, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, gynecological care and contraception, and diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections. The Health Services Office is located on the first floor of 605 Grand Avenue. It is staffed by a full‐time nurse practitioner and a part‐time physician. Referrals to outside resources and agencies are provided when necessary. Appointments at the Health Center are free of charge to all full‐time and part‐time students, and all services are confidential.
