EDU-1205 Nature of Work: Education
Teaching is more than moving from one side of the desk to the other. Being a teacher involves deep knowledge of content, teaching skills and dispositions. In this course, you will have learning experiences that will help you develop an understanding of what you will need to do to become an effective teacher. These include the 11 NJ Professional Teaching Standards and the 9
essential dispositions of an effective teacher. This course will be taught through an examination of the actions of teachers in the classroom using popular culture films, interviews with teachers,
and classroom observations.
