SWS-3075 Child Welfare
This course examines the child welfare system and its historical development. Students will be introduced to child welfare policies, programs and practices. Roles of the child welfare social worker in child protective services, adoption and foster care, and the knowledge, values and skills of culturally competent practice will be explored. Please note that this course is an elective, but is required for students who wish to apply for a Baccalaureate Child Welfare Education Program (BCWEP) traineeship at the NJ Division of Child Protection & Permanency.
