WRI-2050 Media Copywriting & Writing for Public Relations

Media Copywriting and Writing for Public Relations will introduce students to the basics of content creation of persuasive messages (media copywriting) as well as the specific aspects of
communicating a message to stakeholders (public relations).  Students will learn about such concepts as brand identity, writing eye-catching headlines, and the various forms of writing that
copywriters do (news releases, media releases, fact sheets, media kits, etc.)  Through the public relations portions of the course, students will learn about the function of public relations
writing, as well as appropriate marketing tools and platforms and ethical use of messaging.
