GCO-601 Clinical Counseling Field Experience I
Clinical Counseling Field Experience I involves a placement in a clinical setting to enable students to develop counseling skills and integrate professional knowledge and skills. Clinical Counseling Field Experience I provides an opportunity to practice counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed mental health professional. In addition to the supervised field experience, the course involves a weekly seminar on campus. Prior permission of the Practicum/Field Experience Coordinator is required to arrange a placement that is appropriate to the student's academic and career goals. Students complete a minimum of 300 total supervised hours, of which a minimum of 120 hours are direct hours. Students are required to obtain/maintain active liability insurance throughout
GCO 601 hours.
