Curriculum structure
Major- A major is a collection of courses designed to give opportunity for in-depth study of a specific area within a given discipline. Regardless of the number of credit hours in a major, there should be a minimum of 25% credits at the upper level (ex: 3000 level or higher).
Concentration-A concentration is a structured selection of courses within a major that provides a particular specialization designed to give a student specific knowledge within the major. A student may double count no more than 8 credits among concentrations.
Minor-A minor is a secondary area of study that sits outside the student's major area of study. A student may not complete a minor within their major. Minors will contain a minimum of 16 credits of study with at least 25% of those credits at the upper level (defined above).
Each major and minor is subject to the University requirement that 50% of the credits must be taken at Centenary.
It is the University's policy that for future offerings a minor may not exist where there is not a major within which it is housed.
