BIO-1303 Human Nutrition & Performance
This course is designed to introduce non-science major students to the concepts of good nutrition for optimal health, fitness, and exercise performance. Topics include the classes of nutrients, body weight and body composition, weight maintenance and loss, nutrition for specific types of athletic events, and supplements and drugs related to exercise performance. Lab exercises will be directly related to issues discussed in class, and include the scientific method and an introduction to laboratory techniques, digestion, nutrient activity, fitness and well-being, and performance supplements. (Open to all students)
Notes
If this course is taken online it is 4 credits and satisfies the lab.
