GED-640 Diagnosis & Correction of Reading Writing Difficulties II-Correction
This course is a continuation of GED 639. While GED 639 focuses on diagnosis, GED 640 examines a variety of corrective measures to enhance students’ literacy learning as a result of an analysis of the data collected in GED639. Students will act as reading specialists and learn how to plan effective intervention lessons to target specific strategies and skills based on the most contemporary research-based best practices in comprehension, phonics, phonological awareness, vocabulary, fluency, language skills, motivation-building, writing, etc. Students will learn how data drive instruction and how to create a clinical case study to report that data to a variety of stakeholders. Students will continue to develop their philosophy of instruction with a strong focus on equitable practices that promote the success of each learner.
