GED-601 Learning Theories on the Nature & Needs of Individuals with Disabilities
This course takes an in-depth look at current state and federal legislation that impacts special education. The characteristics and etiology of specific disabilities and placement options for diverse learners is addressed. Learning theory including motivation and its effects on learning and leading theories of learning is studied. Additionally, a study of rewards and incentives and interests and climate for learning is addressed. Field work may be required. Students who hold special education certification and have taken a similar course within the last five years need not take this course, and should substitute a different course in the same category for
GED 601.
